Redonda House

In Progress, New Build
Set on a gentle mesa with panoramic mountain views, this pinwheel-designed home centers around a tranquil courtyard and blends muted, natural materials to harmonize indoor and outdoor living.

The Redonda House was strategically designed on a gentle circular mesa – with views to Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Jemez Mountains. The project was developed along a Central / Linear Entry Hall with access to separate Bedroom Areas, Living Areas / Covered Porches, and a Central Courtyard.

The Pinwheel design revolves around the Central Courtyard that features a Porch, Spa Tub, and Deciduous Trees. The Central Entry Hall carries a Floating Roof element with expansive windows to create a vista through an Aspen grove and the natural landscape beyond. The East Porch incorporates an extension of the Kitchen / Living with a BBQ and generous lounging areas. A low colored concrete wall frames the view of the Mountains.

The house incorporates a palette of calm, earthen and muted materials inside and out – connecting the inner and outer worlds for a healthy and vibrant environment for its occupants.

The ascending site approach introduces the visitor with low colored concrete walls, steel plate, and gabion baskets to mitigate the natural drainage / arroyo – one discovers the view of the house and views along this sequence.
